The Baltimore Ravens thoroughly dominated the Buffalo Bills in their Week 4 meeting by a score of 35-10.

Running back Derrick Henry ran for nearly 200 yards, quarterback Lamar Jackson had a couple of touchdown passes and the Ravens defense stymied Buffalo’s offense all night.

But that was three and a half months ago.

Now, the Bills have a chance at redemption in front of their home fans with a trip to the AFC championship game on the line.

"I think you always try and learn from the past the best you can and there’s a lot of lessons that we were taught in that game," said Bills head coach Sean McDermott.

"For me personally, I’m not trying to hold onto that,” said Bills defensive tackle DaQuan Jones. “I think [linebacker Terrel Bernard] said a great message today in the unit meeting, ‘we’re not the same team that we were back then.’ We’ve gotten better in a lot of areas."

"Going back and watching, it obviously wasn’t our best effort. Felt like we didn’t play our best football,” said Bills quarterback Josh Allen. “They’ve got a really good team too. They’re playing this week for a reason. Their defense the last eight, 10 weeks has been superb."

Much of the hype this week will surround the two quarterbacks, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, the two favorites to win the NFL Most Valuable Player award — a hotly-contested debate over the last few weeks. But the two stars don’t have to directly go against each other, so there’s much more to this game than Josh vs. Lamar.

"I think in the history of football I’ve never really played against another quarterback. I’ve played against their defense,” said Allen. “Just taking it one day at a time. Trying to have a good week of practice and then controlling what I can control, and that’s attitude and effort and it’s how we come out here and just try to put our best forward and try to execute on Sunday."

And to help simulate the unique challenge of facing Jackson, the Bills signed Anthony Brown to the practice squad, a mobile quarterback who can try to mimic some of what Jackson can do in practice.

He also played with the Bills briefly this summer and was with the Ravens two years ago.
