BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Museum of Science has a new program that gives you a look at the universe up close and personal. You can have the solar system at your fingertips with Twilight at the Museum.
The museum’s latest program is a journey that will take you from sunset to starlight with a breathtaking view of the city.
This Friday, get a glimpse of the night sky with powerful telescopes that can catch the rings of Saturn.
There’s "eye spy in sky" activities for kids and twilight talks with astronomers to identify hundreds of celestial bodies.
Officials say it is the first time the Kellogg Observatory has been open to the public since the pandemic and they’re excited to take them to a galaxy far, far away.
“It's amazing when they first look through the telescope, and they catch what you're what you're showing them,” said Tim Collins, from the Buffalo Museum of Science’s astronomy team. “And when the jaw drops, you know they see it and then you can continue from there. And it's just so much joy to see on their face when they actually can say 'I see a star that's not the sun.' ”
The first installment of Sunset to Stars runs this Friday at 8 p.m. and admission is included with tickets to the museum or Antarctic Dinosaurs. You can purchase tickets here.
