BUFFALO, N.Y. — What better way to spend a summer day than learning a little more about our fair city while taking a ride on the river.

Start at the Canalside dock and set sail down the Erie Canal to explore the rich history of Silo City and see the beauty of Elevator Alley on a 90-minute tour.

For just $25, you can travel along the waterway and hear how it once made Buffalo one of the biggest and richest cities in the world.

The tour has been operating for around eight years and employees say they are happy to share their hometown knowledge with locals and visitors alike.

”And what I've learned makes me even more proud and when people walk off the vessel and they say, ‘wow, I never knew that or I've seen these grain elevators here for years’ and you bring them right by them and they learn so much and have a much bigger appreciation. About their town that they live in,” Buffalo Boat Tours Owner Rich Hilliman said.

And this isn’t the only boat in the fleet. They also have the Spirit of Buffalo and offer brunch cruises. For more information, click here.
