No storyline is bigger to me throughout Bills training camp than the rehab of Tre'Davious White.

The Pro Bowl cornerback tore his ACL last season on Thanksgiving night in New Orleans and had surgery a few weeks later.

Since, we really have not gotten any idea of where he is in his recovery.

All throughout the offseason and through the spring, General Manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott have remained rather consistent while also vague in their updates, simply saying White continues to be on track.

Exactly what the timeline is that White's "on track" with is unknown. Typically it takes a player 9-12 months to return to the field following a torn ACL.

Under that timeline, White's best case scenario would be coming back in late August.

Beane did say later in the spring that the team would have a better idea of exactly where White is in his rehab at the beginning of training camp, so that would lead me to believe more information might be on the horizon.

He and McDermott along with many players have raved about the work White is putting into his rehab, always in the facility for hours on end.

However, he was not seen by the media at any point during the spring when the media was given access to practices.

Barring a setback, I would imagine we should be seeing White at some point at St. John Fisher University.

The Bills have shown to take a very cautious approach with all players dealing with injuries and I imagine White will be no different.

As much as he wants to return as quick as possible, the long term will all but certainly supersede the short.

White likely will need at least a few weeks of practice before returning to game action, meaning a week 1 target date would necessitate a return to the field by late August. I don't think he would have to play in a preseason game to be good to go for the opener.

We won't know anything until we see Tre'Davious White for ourselves, which is why his progress over the next six-plus weeks is the number one thing I'll be monitoring.
