BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority member has resigned after he was accused of forcibly touching a woman.
Alan Core, Sr., 58, was arraigned last Friday on one count of forcible touching and one count of harassment.
Authorities say the alleged incident took place last month inside the victim's apartment.
Mayor Byron Brown said in a statement Thursday that he accepted Core's resignation from the BMHA Board of Commissioners.
"I have accepted the resignation of Alan Core from the BMHA Board of Commissioners," Mayor Brown said. "These allegations are concerning and should be fully investigated. I will move quickly to fill the position so the BMHA can continue the important work of serving its residents."
Core has since been released because the charges he is facing do not qualify for bail.
He is scheduled to appear in court on August 17.
