BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Queen City will be bringing in the New Year virtually.
The City of Buffalo says this will be the first time in three decades that the New Year’s Eve event will not have a crowd at Roosevelt Plaza.
The ball drop will benefit kids who participate in programs with the Police Athletic League of Buffalo.
Snow is expected to return to the area with temperatures dropping into the low 20s Wednesday.
The holiday fun started on Black Friday and runs through Dec. 23. Tickets go on sale Nov. 15.
The investment will allow it to add drive unit production for GM's electric vehicles as the automaker transitions from gasoline-powered vehicles.
The county’s new EMS program will serve residents in the towns of Aurora, Boston, Colden, Collins, North Collins, Eden, Holland and Wales.
