The City of Buffalo is now facing a lawsuit following a motorcycle crash which involved one of the notorious "Singing Cops."
Melvin Williams and his mother Evelyn Williams allege that the city is responsible for the crash due to Officer Michael Norwood's "carelessness, negligence and recklessness."
While Norwood is identified in the lawsuit he is not named as a defendant.
The lawsuit further states that the city is "liable for its negligent hiring, training, supervision, and retention of Officer Norwood."
According to the lawsuit, back on August 27, 2019, Norwood failed to yield right of way at Jefferson Avenue and Williams Street, colliding with Melvin Williams, who suffered serious internal and external injuries.
Buffalo Police did not immediately return a request for comment.
