6. Buffalo Central Terminal starts summer concert series early

The Buffalo Central Terminal will open its summer concert series early this year. The events, held on the lawn from June through October, will now get underway on June 27 with performances by Vitamin D (pop soul, funk, soul, hip hop) and Elliot Scozzaro Trio (jazz).

Five outdoor pools to open for summer around Buffalo on July 1

Five outdoor swimming pools will officially open for the summer around Buffalo on Monday, July 1, Mayor Byron Brown announced Thursday. Centennial Outdoor Pool, Houghton Outdoor Pool, JFK Outdoor Pool, Kensington Outdoor Pool and Riverside Outdoor Pool will open to the public.

The Cazenovia-Connors, Kait, Harrity Memorial Pool and Lovejoy pools are also open.

Ten splash pads will be open daily, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. after the school year ends on June 25
