We asked the Your Morning on Spectrum News team a few questions about their morning. Get to know the team.

DEVON PATTON

Devon is the weekday morning anchor on Spectrum News, joining the team in June of 2018. As a Syracuse University graduate, he’s happy to be back in the community cheering on the Orange and delivering you the morning news. Read more about Devon.

How do you take your coffee?
I like my coffee light brown — Starbucks Pike Place with cream and sugar.

What do you look forward to every morning?
I look forward to talking with Vanessa and Lacey every morning because I know one of them will say something funny and crack me up!

What is your favorite thing about Your Morning on Spectrum News?
My favorite thing about Your Morning on Spectrum News is being able to let all the families in our community know what’s going on and being able to inform them in a fun and entertaining way.

What time do you wake up?
I wake up at 2:30 a.m., but then I hit snooze!

VANESSA RICHARDS

Vanessa is no stranger to the changeable weather in our area. She grew up in the small town of Moravia just south of Syracuse and has spent her whole life watching the seasons change and the weather activity here in Central New York. Read more about Vanessa.

How do you take your coffee?
Let’s just put it this way, I take my creamer with a splash of coffee!

What do you look forward to every morning?
Right when I open my eyes in the morning I am surrounded by my family. My husband and I wake up to all our pets and lots of cuddles. It’s hard to have a bad start to any day waking up like that!

What is your favorite thing about Your Morning on Spectrum News?
I LOVE weather and I love letting our viewers know what to expect so they are prepared for their day, but now with Your Morning on Spectrum News I can have a conversation about the weather. Our viewers are weather savvy and want information but also like to talk weather and I am here to have that conversation!

What time do you wake up?
2:00 a.m.

What do you look forward to every morning?
FaceTiming with my daughter and husband when they wake up and call me between morning shows.

What is your favorite thing about Your Morning on Spectrum News?
Devon and Vanessa are my favorite part! Also, being live and being able to help families start their day in a helpful and joyful way.

What time do you wake up?
I’m the late riser, waking up at 4 a.m. on weekdays.  On the weekends, I get to sleep in until 7 a.m., and then we scurry off to our daughter’s day of basketball games!

I take my coffee hot and straight black. I enjoy it bold or extra strong to help start the day with an extra kick.

What do you look forward to every morning?
I look forward to meeting new people, learning new information, and telling a different story every day. The job of a morning reporter allows me to learn something new every day, which is really cool.

What is your favorite thing about Your Morning on Spectrum News?
My favorite thing about Your Morning on Spectrum News is working with a talented and experienced team each day.

What time do you wake up?
My alarm is set for 2:15 a.m. every day. This allows me to get up, get ready, and get to work to prepare scripts and questions for my interviews early each day.
