Brad Vivacqua is an award-winning multimedia journalist with extensive knowledge of local sports and current events that allow him to switch gears and jump into various roles when needed.
Brad was born and raised in the Mohawk Valley, so it’s no surprise that his favorite thing to do in the area is to attend Syracuse University basketball and football games. Brad has been going to games since he was a kid and was a student there when the basketball team won the National Championship in 2003. Combining work and pleasure, he’s lucky enough to have reported on several big games across the country including SU's Final Fours in Atlanta in 2013 and in Houston in 2016. One of his all-time favorite trips was covering the SU basketball team as they played on a retired navy ship in the "Battle on the Midway" in 2012 in San Diego. Brad has also covered two Pinstripe Bowls in New York City in 2010 and 2012 along with the Camping World Bowl in Orlando in 2018. He has also followed parishioners from Syracuse to Philadelphia, Pa., to cover the papal visit in 2015 and reported on three tragic police officer shootings in the Mohawk Valley.
At Spectrum News, Brad has had roles as a sports anchor/reporter and traffic reporter. He’s also a regular fill-in news anchor. Brad has delivered thousands of live shots in his career, but he also loves to put together regular feature stories focused on the good news happening across the region. He considers his ability to deliver clear, precise breaking news and wintry weather live shots as some of his greatest strengths.
Brad now resides in Liverpool and enjoys working out, relaxing, and spending quality time with family and friends. He has run about a dozen half marathons and 25 Utica Boilermaker Road Races. He also serves as a regular emcee at community events and is an avid adult league kickball player.
