After a sunny weekend, clouds and rain are set to return to start off the workweek.

We should get off to a dry start Monday morning, but expect showers to spread over the region by afternoon. By late evening, heavier pockets of rain will track in from the west and last into the overnight.

On Tuesday, most of the heavy rain will slide off to the east by mid-morning. That said, clouds will remain along with a shower or two. Furthermore, a passing shower could linger into Wednesday.

Much colder weather is expected to arrive toward the end of the workweek. In fact, it looks like we will see several days of much below-average temps that could extend through next weekend.
