News reports estimate around 80% of Bermuda lost power Wednesday afternoon and evening as the eye of category 3 Hurricane Humberto passed north of the island.  Residents there may soon have to prepare for another hurricane.

As of Thursday morning, Tropical Storm Jerry is located 575 miles east of the Lesser Antilles.  It is forecast to soon become a hurricane as it moves to the west-northwest over the warm waters of the Atlantic.  The latest forecast track from the National Hurricane Center shows the storm should move north of Puerto Rico by the start of the weekend.  It is then expected to turn more to the north and northeast.

That turn should keep the storm away from the U.S., but several computer models show Jerry will track at least very close to Bermuda early next week.

The only impacts from Humberto and Jerry in the Carolinas remain the threat for dangerous surf conditions at our beaches.   The entire North Carolina coast still has a high risk for rip currents Thursday.

Elsewhere, the remnants of Tropical Storm Imelda have moved very little since it came inland near Galveston and Houston, Texas.  Widespread flooding has been reported around Beaumont, Texas Thursday morning shutting down sections of I-10.
