'Epic Games' announced, this week, an expansion of its campus in Cary.

The company is behind the wildly popular game 'Fortnite'. And the plan includes expanding the company's existing campus off of Crossroads Boulevard to include an additional 1,500 to 2,000 permanent jobs. The project will also create construction jobs.

"They could've gone probably anywhere in the country or the world, for that matter, but they're comfortable in Cary," Cary Chamber of Commerce Vice President of Economic Development Mark Lawson said. "And they've got a great corporate campus. And so, we're really excited and very supportive of their continued expansion and growth. They've got the whole community behind them."

Cary officials said the campus expansion will take three to four years to complete.
