GREENSBORO, N.C. — A North Carolina entrepreneur is using dance to get children through the pandemic.

N.C. A&T graduate and owner of The EducateDancer Studio, Latisha Perry, teaches a class called "dance girl moves." It’s designed to teach girls age-appropriate versions of HBCU dance team styles, mixing jazz, ballet, and hip hop.

Due to the pandemic, Perry was forced to close her old studio downtown, and she opened a new studio on Patterson Street in hopes to give children an outlet during the pandemic.

“A lot of them can’t even breathe without dancing, they absolutely love it," Perry said. "So, when I knew that I could find a way to open up safely and continue doing what we love, I said let's go for it.”

Perry said they’re following social distancing and sanitation rules.

The studio also offers a study lounge for students.
