NORTH CAROLINA -- Monday's severe weather on top of COVID-19 can wreak havoc on your mental health.
Ericka Ellis-Stewart is the director of education at Mental Health Americas of Central Carolinas and says there are some things you can do to reduce anxiety and feelings of isolation...
- Pick a couple people to talk to over the phone, through text, or by Skype or Zoom.
- Get fresh air whether it's a light walk or a workout.
- Take up a hobby.
- Find a way to disconnect from social media.
- Ask yourself what you are grateful for.
"In any times of troubled circumstances, or troubled times, it's very easy to lose hope and to remember that this will get better, and to remember that there are individuals out there who care and are willing to support," Ellis-Stewart says.
If you're looking for mental health resources in North Carolina you can dial 211.
