Mild weather is in the forecast through early next week.  Our normal highs in late December are near 50 to the low 50s.  Highs across central North Carolina will be more than 10 degrees above those normals through Monday.

After patchy fog lifts early Friday morning, much of the day will be mostly cloudy to partly sunny.  Highs will top out in the mid 60s.

Partly cloudy conditions are on tap for Friday night.  Lows will drop to the 40s by early Saturday morning.  Patchy fog will be possible again.

A storm system bringing rain and snow to the southwestern U.S. Friday will evenutally bring rain to North Carolina this weekend.  However, we may not see much of that rain until late Sunday.  Saturday will be dry with highs in the upper 60s to near 70.

Sunday will start with just a chance for spotty light showers in the morning.  A more widespread rain is expected by Sunday evening.  The rain should then continue through Monday morning.  Rainfall totals should range from 0.25" to 0.75" during that time.

Mostly sunny and somewhat cooler weather is forecast for New Years Eve and New Years Day.
