Summer officially begins Friday, but it looks like Mother Nature wants to bring the heat and humidity in a bit early. Highs today will range from the upper 80s to mid 90s this afternoon. Dew points will be high in the 60s and 70s, creating a uncomfortably humid day.
Our high heat and humidity will help produce a few showers and storms this afternoon. Rain coverage will not be too impressive but we could see 1 or 2 thunderstorms rumble through the area before sunset.
A Bermuda High over the Atlantic will continue to keep conditions hot as we continue our workweek. Highs will peak each day slightly above average near 90 degrees. Rainfall will be likely each day thanks to a couple of upper-level disturbances moving through the region. A few strong storms may possibly develop Tuesday afternoon and evening. If any severe storms develop, localized heavy rain and damaging wind gusts will be the main concern.
