After isolated severe storms produced an EF-2 tornado in eastern Wake County and up to baseball size hail in Johnston County Monday, Tuesday's forecast will be much calmer.  Pop-up storms are not expected.  We will just see plenty of sun through the day with pleasant temperatures.

Highs in the low to mid 70s are cooler than average for mid-May in central North Carolina.  Normal highs this time of year are around 80.

We'll remain a bit below normal Tuesday night as low temperatures drop to the upper 40s by sunrise Wednesday.

Wednesday will be another mostly sunny day with highs in the 70s.  Warmer temperatures are then forecast for the end of the week.  The first 90-degree days of the year are expected this weekend.
