CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- The first school in North Carolina has announced its plans for how to handle a teacher rally at the State Capitol.
Thursday, the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City School Board voted unanimously to have an optional teacher workday for this year's rally set for May 1.

The board says the decision was made in response to the high number of expected staff absences.
