NASH COUNTY, N.C. -- The Nash County man charged in the murder of his wife went before judge Tuesday.

  • Monday, several investigators were by the Dunbar Bridge searching the Tar River for additional evidence.
  • If convicted, Keel could face life in prison or the death penalty.
  • He's due back in court on April 11.

Lynn Keel is charged with the first-degree murder of Diana Keel.

He returned to North Carolina last week after Arizona authorities arrested him near the Mexico border last week with a knife and pocket full of cash.

Monday, several investigators were by the Dunbar Bridge searching the Tar River for additional evidence. It's about five miles away from where Diana Keel's body was located in Edgecombe County.

If convicted, Keel could face life in prison or the death penalty.

He's due back in court on April 11.
