DURHAM, N.C. -- The founder of a current social movement came to praise the founder of a historic social movement.

Hundreds attended the Martin Luthor King Jr. service at the Duke University Chapel on Sunday. Tarana Burke was the keynote speaker. She is recognized as the founder of the #MeToo movement, which aims to bring a stop to sexual violence and harassment. Burke spoke about how many current social justice efforts can trace their origins back to the work of Dr. King.

""He was a visionary...and his vision for this movement that they were building was expansive, "she said.

Burke has spent 25 years as a social activist, along with her work in the #MeToo movement. She is also a survivor of sexual assault.
