Massey Hill Hardware started back when Harry Truman was President of the United States. Citing heavy competition from big store chains, the owners have decided it's time to close it down.
Timothy Gallant has worked at the store for decades. He said this was devastating.
"I got the news later in June, the last part of June. It was really difficult for me. The first two weeks, it seemed like it didn't hit me. But the third, it hit me like a bolt of lightning. I broke down," he said.
Massey Hill Hardware will close for good in less than two weeks. Residents say that closure will leave a big void in their lives.
