Mild weather finished off the work week and warm conditions are in store for the start of the holiday weekend.

Saturday will start off on the warm side as mostly cloudy skies will prevent overnight temperatures from dropping too much, look for morning lows in the upper 40s to near 50.

Breezy and warm conditions will greet you as you head out the door Saturday. In advance of an approaching cold front, we’ll see gusty southerly winds and afternoon highs that will soar to around 70 in most of central North Carolina.

That cold front will eventually bring a chance for rain to the region, but we likely will not see that until after sunset Saturday evening. The showers should then come to an end before sunrise Sunday.

Christmas Eve will be mostly cloudy and cooler with temperatures in the 50s all day.

Christmas Day is looking to be mostly sunny and on the chilly side with morning lows in the mid 30s and afternoon highs only into the mid 40s.
