GRAHAM, N.C.-- Dogs across the world are taking the backyard game "catch a Frisbee" up a notch with the K9 Frisbee Toss & Fetch Worldwide Championship.

Fifteen thousand owners and pets are competing in 18 different countries.

Organizers at Eli Whitney Recreation Center in Graham said the sport is more than just winning a title.

“It helps strengthen our bond with our dogs,” said Timothy Lake, Club Captain for Tarheel Toss & Fetch League. “It’s a lot of fun going out there to exercise with your dog.”

Games continue Sunday for the Updog Triple Crown Worldwide Challenge.
