GREENSBORO, N.C.-- North Carolina A&T is gaining national recognition.

U.S. News & World report's “Best Colleges 2020” names N.C. A&T the nation’s number one public HBCU.

Money Magazine’s “Best Colleges For Your Money” also ranks the university's campus most affordable.

“We are number one in many indicators,” said Tonya Smith-Jackson, Senior Vice Provost for academic affairs. “We have been recognized for social mobility, obviously our academic rigor.”

Over 12,000 students are enrolled this fall.

“We have a lot more interest a lot more excitement and the students coming in are showing record numbers into their academic achievement,” said Jacque Powers, Interim Associate Vice Provost for enrollment management.

N.C. A&T also remains the nation’s largest HBCU for the sixth consecutive year.
