MEBANE, N.C. -- ABB plans an expansion in Mebane that will bring 400 new jobs to Orange County.

The Swiss industrial company manufactures robotics, automation, and electrical equipment and the new jobs include engineers, fabricators, and assemblers.
ABB received incentives to help with the $40 million expansion.
Management is excited about is working closely with North Carolina community colleges.
“The community colleges are going to be absolutely critical to us finding the talent that are here and us also working with the talent we do have to make sure they are doing enough for our customers,” said ABB Program Manager, Doug Sutter.
Construction will begin in October and the project is expected to be completed by July of 2020.
