CLEMMONS, N.C.-- Some pool goers got upset at the Tanglewood Park pool over the holiday weekend after they were given confederate flag wrist bands for entry.
- Officials say an employee ordered the wristbands by accident

- County officials said the wristbands were destroyed
Officials say an employee ordered the wristbands by accident.
“The employees intention was one of patriotism and the American flag and independence day and 1776 not the 1860’s,” said Damon Sanders-Pratt, Deputy County Manager. “ The county apologies for what happened and won’t repeat that.”
The woman who noticed them is still upset.
“I recognize the long an horrendous history of slavery, violence, and murder of black and brown bodies, and this flag symbolizes all of that,” said Sage Magness.
County officials say the wristbands were destroyed.
The distributor said they had been discontinued but apparently some stock remained. The county's gotten a credit for the purchase.
