Ready or not summer is making an early arrival in North Carolina. Temperatures and dew points are on the rise and the first 90 degree days of the year are possible for parts of North Carolina for the weekend.

Upper 80s are expected for Friday, and some of us may see 90 for the weekend.

There are very limited rain chances in the forecast for the next seven days. However a disturbance track to the north of the state could kick off a couple of areas of thunderstorms that may dive into North Carolina from West Virginia and Virginia.

The latest computer modeling shows one round of storms could pass through the Piedmont from around late morning to early afternoon Friday. A second round is possible in the evening.

Looking beyond the weekend, above average temperatures are likely for all of next week. There are signs the end of next could be hotter than this weekend.
