Area school districts are gearing up for the start of school.

Bus drivers in Brockport were busy Tuesday reviewing their new routes that cover 72 square miles in the district.

About 75 drivers transport 3,400 students to and from school daily.

The district added more lights to some of the busses to improve road safety.

"We have added a second set of lower red lights on the buses so they are more visible to the motorists,” said Milt Wayne, director of transportation for the Brockport Central School district. “They will almost come into their windshields because they are lower on the busses. We have six of the busses done now for school start-up and as the school years moves along we will put more on."

Brockport's first day of school is Wednesday, September 5.
