WILMINGTON, N.C. -- After hitting a high of 79 degrees in Wilmington Wednesday, temperatures will be just as warm Thursday afternoon.

Look for plenty of sunshine today mixed with some high level clouds. This will allow temperatures to soar back into the mid and upper 70s to near 80 along most of the coast as a warm front lifts north across the area.

A cold front will begin pushing in from the northwest Friday, bringing more cloud cover back to the area along with a chance for showers. Ahead of the front, we'll still manage to warm into the mid and upper 70s Friday afternoon across the coast.

By Saturday, the front will be to the south of us, leaving us cooler for the weekend. Saturday should be a dry day for most of the coast with highs back in the 50s to low and mid 60s. On Sunday, rain will begin to move back into the area with highs set to drop further into the low and mid 50s.
