Noel, a native Floridian, knew at a young age that becoming a meteorologist was his calling. During the 2004-2005 hurricane season, Noel would track the storms at home while watching local meteorologists for hours.

Growing up near Tampa, Noel interned with WFLA News Channel 8 in Tampa and Spectrum Bay News 9 in St. Petersburg. He graduated from the University of South Florida in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in geography and an emphasis in atmospheric science. Noel was awarded the AMS Dewey Stowers Scholarship for excellence in meteorology his senior year. He is now working toward a master’s in meteorology at Mississippi State University.

Noel was the secretary of the West Central Florida American Meteorological Society for a year before taking his first on-air offer.  His first job landed him in Abilene, TX, where he was a weekend meteorologist and multimedia journalist at KTAB News. He then had the opportunity to take on the responsibilities of chief meteorologist in San Angelo, TX.

Noel then returned to Florida to be a weekend meteorologist and multimedia journalist at WWSB in Sarasota, where he provided wall-to-wall coverage on Hurricane Eta. Noel's next journey landed him in Lawton, OK as chief meteorologist with KSWO, where he helped develop a fellowship program where students in the OU meteorology department could receive on-air experience and mentorship for a semester.

Of paramount importance to Noel is keeping the community up-to-date during times of inclement weather so viewers can make informed decisions and stay safe.

Home is where the heart is and Noel knew his next move needed to be much closer to family, and so he decided North Carolina would be a great spot to settle down with his wife and two kids.

Noel received his Eagle Scout at the age of 14 and outside of work he helps others receive their Eagle Scout as an Assistant Scout Master. He is also a certified barbeque judge with the Kansas City Barbeque Society and he’s judged more than 15 contests. He loves sports, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with his family.
