Courtney Davis joined the Spectrum News team in April of 2016 as the Salisbury bureau reporter.
Originally from the Annapolis, Maryland, area, Courtney spent nearly every summer vacation visiting family in North Carolina and fell in love with the state. That obsession led her to Elon University, where she studied journalism.
While at Elon, Courtney was an active member of "Elon Local News," the student news broadcast and a member of Delta Delta Delta.
She interned for WTTG-TV Fox 5 in Washington, D.C., during the summer before her senior year. Her internship in the heart of our nation solidified her love for news and storytelling.
After graduating from Elon University in 2014, Courtney began her journalism career at WVVA-TV in the beautiful mountains of Bluefield, West Virginia, where she reported on anything from the capital beat, the coal industry, local government to wilderness and tourism stories. She also was the fill-in anchor while working at WVVA-TV.
When she is not working, Courtney can usually be found on a hiking trail, cheering on Elon athletics, enjoying time on the water or visiting her parents and six siblings around the country.
