From busy city streets to tranquil mountain towns with twisting trails, another busy weekend is expected across North Carolina this weekend.

NASCAR also returns to North Wilkesboro this weekend with the All-Star Race, a rush of recollection for some fans who have a good grasp on the history of the sport in the state.

The Cheerwine Festival, celebrating North Carolina's unique, cherry-flavored beverage, is back. The event features food, entertainment and of course, an abundance of Cheerwine.

The golf world will have its eyes on the Queen City this weekend as the world’s top golfers compete. It's hard for fans to get any closer to the action in other professional sports.

If you're trying to steer clear of sports, but still take in some North Carolina culture, the Got to be NC Festival may be just for you. Read more details below.

Cheerwine Festival

After a big success in 2017, downtown Salisbury has hosted the Cheerwine Festival with great success for many years.

Featured bands who plan to rock out this year include Liam Pendgrass Trio, Carolina Keller Band and Next Level Band.

There will also be beer gardens, coffee bars and, of course, Cheerwine. Gates open Saturday, and the event runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in what’s sure to be another successful year for the organization.

2025 NASCAR All-Star Race

Racing returns to North Wilkesboro for a third All-Star race, and there’s no guarantee the event will return for a fourth next year, officials say, so this weekend may be the last for area fans to grab a ticket.

NASCAR fans have been making their way over to the event all week long, and the local economy has seen the benefits, officials said.

The trucks kick things off Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with the Window World 250, followed by the first-half of the All-Star Open Sunday at 5 p.m. and the second half starting at 8 p.m.

Artsplosure’s Raleigh Arts Festival

The festival kicked off in April 1980, Artsplosure’s organizers have been dedicated to one common goal — “art for all.”

There’s no doubt you’ll get just that this weekend from the Raleigh nonprofit, as festivalgoers will be able to shop award-winning artists from 11 different categories like ceramics, metal, jewelry and more.

The art market will be open Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Atlantic Beach Music Festival

Grab your tank top, sunglasses and dance card before you head to take in the sights and sounds at the 11th annual Atlantic Beach Music Festival Saturday.

Featured bands include The Band of Oz, The I-42 Band and Gary Lowder & Smokin’ Hot.

Merchandise, food and drinks will be available for purchase, and there’s no cost to get in.

Gates open Saturday at 11 a.m. and the festival continues through 6 p.m.

Got to be NC Festival

Three days of home-style festival celebrations are in store for festivalgoers at the North Carolina Sate Fairgrounds this weekend for the Got to be NC Festival.

A tractor parade, butterfly barn and duck water races for kids will be open to enjoy.

Gate admission and parking is free for those who make the trip out, but things like carnival rides and food will cost you.

The PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club is a great chance to get outside with friends and family, breathing in the fresh air after weeks of rain and enjoying the sunshine.

Rory McIlroy is the toast of golf after he won the Masters green jacket on his 17th try and became only the sixth player with the career Grand Slam.

That last happened 25 years ago, and there’s a chance it could happen again in 35 days if Jordan Spieth were to win.

The top 70 players and ties make the 36-hole cut Friday and advance to the weekend. Spieth, who needs to win the PGA Championship for the career Grand Slam, is at 60-1.

Gates open Friday at 6:30 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 7:15 a.m. with shuttles available to and from parking areas.
