Happy Halloween! Muggy and warm conditions continue Thursday ahead of an approaching strong cold front set to move through the coast Thursday night into very early Friday morning. For the coast, the cold front won't begin moving through until 10pm and continue to move east through midnight for the Wilmington area, then shift east towards the Outer Banks by 2am-3am. We could see a few storms become severe with the threat for damaging winds. However, this threat won't ramp up until after most trick-or-treaters are done.

The front will be to the east of the area by Friday morning, behind that, drier and cooler conditions return Friday into the weekend with highs in th 60s (and 50s for some areas inland) with nights in the 40s.
