WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Cooler weather greeted hundreds attending the 40th annual Wilmington Downtown Riverfest on Saturday.
The festivities kicked off Friday.
This year, due to construction going on downtown, the festival is taking over more of front and market streets than it has in the past for all of its vendors and shows.
Organizers of the festival say they deserve this much needed change in weather.
"It's just perfect festival weather, which after having dealt with the last two of the last three festivals being rescheduled because of Hurricanes is a nice change," says Riverfest Board of Directors President Russ Deats.
You can still get in on the fun until 5 p.m. this evening.
