BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. -- A young boy is safe after being rescued from rough waters at Sunset Beach.

Sunset Beach Fire Department says the boy was rescued by bystanders and beach patrol staff Sunday afternoon.

They recommend beachgoers avoid swimming with risks of rip currents being high.
