WILMINGTON, N.C. -- We're heading into a hot and humid day Wednesday with highs expected to soar into the low to even mid-90s for some. Like the past couple of days, we'll also look for a scattered storms set to develop during the late afternoon and evening, but these storms will have a better potential to reach severe limits. With a "Level 1" risk in place for the entire coast, a few isolated severe storms will be possible and may be capable of producing damaging winds and perhaps some large hail.
A cold front will continue to move through the coast Thursday, allowing for another round of storms Thursday afternoon, where the severe threat will be lower. After Thursday, drier conditions resume Friday, with limited storm chances into the weekend.
