KURE BEACH, N.C. -- Fort Fisher Aquarium is back open after being closed temporarily.

The aquarium posted to it's Facebook that it will be open through 5 p.m. this afternoon. This comes after aquarium officials told the public they would be closing temporarily due to an issue with some air conditioning units.

They closed early Thursday morning and did not open at all on Friday. Officials say they made the decision taking into account waht's best for the animals and visitors.
