The weather will be almost perfect Friday and Saturday for Azalea Festival events around Wilmington!

All day sunshine Friday will warm temperatures into the upper 70s in the afternoon. Temperatures will drop through the 60s during this evening's 38 Special concert. Low temperatures by early Saturday morning will be in the upper 50s.

Another sunny day is on tap for Saturday. Temperatures will be in the 60s by the start of the Azalea Festival parade and will eventually warm to near 80 by mid and late afternoon.

If you'll be at Saturday's Street Fair, be sure to stop by the Spectrum News Photo booth! We'll be set up along Front Street from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.  You can take your photo like you're a Weather on the 1s meteorologist and meet some of our coastal news team.  Meteorologist Lee Ringer will be there from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

While we enjoy the nice weather through the first half of the weekend, it is important to point out that strong storms will be possible late Sunday. The greatest chance for strong to severe storms may come late Sunday night into the early morning hours on Monday.

Stay tuned to Weather on the 1s on Spectrum News for the latest weather updates through the weekend.
