BURKE COUNTY, N.C -- An ongoing investigation in Western North Carolina has brought more questions than answers.
Carlton Edmondson's mom received a ransom call on Jan. 19. He has not been heard from since.
The FBI, SBI, and Sheriff's Offices in Burke, Watauga, and Johnson County, TN are all involved in the case.
Johnson County detectives found this crime scene where they located foot prints from the suspects and Edmondson. But the trail went cold.
Four people are now behind bars for the kidnapping and more charges could be coming soon for others.
The sheriff says they have two disturbing videos of Edmondson being beaten prior to his disappearance.
But this case isn't only difficult for law enforcement and Edmondson’s family but also for Ashley Taylor, who has an 11-year-old daughter with suspect Robert Littleton. She says her daughter saw Littleton just days before the kidnapping
Taylor wants to know where the victim is and says her 11-year-old also wants to help search for Edmonson.
Littleton and his wife, LeighKatherine Mina, are in the Burke County Jail.
Michael May and James Combs have been extradited to Tennessee.
