1. Buffalo Common Council adopts resolution to ban sale of ATVs
The resolution states that businesses that are caught selling ATVs could be subject to fines and possible suspensions of their business licenses. It also calls on the Erie County Legislature to explore restricting the sale of ATVs, calling this a "regional issue."
2. State ethics panel: Lobbying spending in New York reached $67M in April, May
Total lobbying spending in New York state reached nearly $67 million from March to April, according to preliminary data released Wednesday by the state Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government (COELIG).
3. FDA-approved blood test for Alzheimer's offers hope for early intervention
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved the first blood test to help diagnose Alzheimer's disease. The test is for adults 55 and older who are showing signs and symptoms of Alzheimer's. It could pave the way for many Americans to take advantage of early intervention options.
4. Old Fort Niagara launches fundraising campaign for Native American Education Center
Officials say the center will showcase Native American living conditions at the fort during the American Revolution and enhance the fort's living history programs.
5. Bills sign former Panthers linebacker Shaq Thompson, coming off 2 injury-shortened seasons
The 31-year-old Thompson was not re-signed by Carolina in March after spending his first 10 seasons with the Panthers. He joins the Bills, where he’s reunited with coach Sean McDermott, who was Carolina’s defensive coordinator during Thompson’s first two seasons with the team after being selected in the first round of the 2015 draft.
6. Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Max Scherzer to start for Bisons on Friday
Scherzer has been on the Blue Jays injured list since March 30 with right thumb inflammation.

Josh Allen’s broad grin was familiar. The wedding band on the quarterback’s ring finger was brand new. As much as Allen hoped to talk about the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday, the newlywed couldn’t escape questions about his headline-grabbing marriage to actor/singer Hailee Steinfeld in Southern California on May 31.
It wasn’t until being asked about what the past four months have meant to him — in which Allen was named NFL MVP in February, signed one of the league’s richest contracts in March and got married in May — that Allen finally opened up.
