Amy Elliott joined Spectrum News 1 in 2011, first on the coastal team in Wilmington before transferring to the news team in Raleigh. In June 2023, Amy was promoted to traffic anchor, delivering traffic updates every morning and reporting on transportation and growth issues.

Raised in east Tennessee, Amy knew she wanted to be a television reporter since middle school. She made her way to North Carolina during her college years at Gardner-Webb University and landed her first job in television at WDNN in Dalton, Georgia.

During her career, Amy has covered all types of news stories, from hurricane recovery to high-profile criminal trials.

When she isn’t in the newsroom, Amy enjoys going for a run, reading books, and spending time with her husband and two sons.
