NORTH CAROLINA -- We will see sun and clouds mix Sunday with most of the cloud cover being the thickest to the south.

High temperatures will be warmer, with many areas seeing the mid-50s. Areas south and east of the Triangle may see a few showers by late afternoon with some additional showers across the entire region overnight as a low-pressure system moves by.
The rain moves out for Monday with partly sunny skies. Clouds will increase again late in the day Monday with a slight shower chance.
A warm front will move north on Tuesday, bringing mild temperatures, but after that front moves by, a cold front will sweep across the region.
Rain will likely be in store for Tuesday afternoon and evening. Some of that rain will linger into Wednesday. Temperatures Monday and Tuesday will reach the lower 60s with mid-60s farther south.
Colder temperatures arrive for Wednesday and the rest of the workweek. Highs for most areas will only reach the 40s.
