RALEIGH, N.C. — All across the state people are inspiring positive change in their communities. Spectrum News 1 is taking time to highlight some of those powerful voices.      

Musician and Detroit native Charles Etcherson now calls North Carolina home. He tells us he ended up in Raleigh more than a decade ago, but spent years sharing the international stage with artists like Michael Jackson and The Gap Band.

He talks about his experience combating racism and shares with us his hope for the future.
