CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Carolinas are becoming a hot destination for millennials looking to move.

- North Carolina came in at number seven on the list for states
- Charlotte came in at number 11 for cities, Durham at 21
A recent study by SmartAsset ranked the top states and cities where millennials are migrating toward.
However, some of the results may surprise you. Cities such as Los Angeles and New York didn't crack the list.
North Carolina came in at number seven on the list for states where millennials are moving.
While nowhere in North Carolina managed to crack the top 10 for cities, there were two that showed up in the top 25.
Charlotte had the highest NC spot, coming in at number 11, while Durham managed to squeeze in at 21.
However, Columbia, South Carolina, did manage to snag the second spot, coming in just behind Seattle.
According to the study, Columbia received 6,900 more millennials than it lost in 2016.
