DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Davidson formally introduced their new Director of Athletics, Chris Clunie on Monday, making his homecoming complete.

The former walk-on for the Wildcats basketball team was hired for the post in May, and his return is special for him.

"Just being a student-athlete here changed my life," Clunie said Monday. "It really helped position me to where I am right now. I think being a student-athlete at Davidson is second to none."

Clunie scored only 25 points in his Wildcat career, but his life after college found him working in the NBA, the last decade spent with the San Antonio Spurs. Clunie was also the NBA's director for international basketball operations.

The 2006 Davidson graduate replaces Jim Murphy, who has been named director of athletics emeritus and serve as senior adviser to the president for finance and operation.
