The Ballarat, Victoria, Australia native is the first Wildcat to be selected in the WNBA Draft since Rhyne Howard in 2022 and joins four other Wildcats who were first-round selections, including Howard, Evelyn Akhator, A'dia Mathies and Victoria Dunlap. She is head coach Kenny Brooks' ninth draft selection.

Amoore spent the 2024-25 season at Kentucky after four seasons at Virginia Tech (2020-24). She ends her college career with 2,460 points and 869 assists and is the only college player — men or women — to have at least 2,000 career points (2,460) and 800 assists (869).

Through 31 games as a Wildcat, Amoore posted some of the best stats of her college career. She averaged 19.6 points per game and 6.9 assists per game, second in program history, before concluding her memorable season by breaking the four-decade-old, single-season school record in assists with 213. She hit double digits in all but one game this season while scoring at least 20 points in 14 games.

Amoore was instrumental to the Wildcats' turnaround this season, leading a team that featured 11 new players to a 23-8 overall record, including 11-5 in Southeastern Conference play. This came after a 12-20 season in 2023-24. The Wildcats were a fourth seed in the 2025 NCAA Tournament, beating No. 13-seed Liberty 79-78 in the first round before an 80-79 loss to No. 5-seed Kansas State in the second round.

The Mystics finished 14-26 in 2024, placing ninth in the WNBA standings.
