BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — Jason Seidel has been helping people in the foothills for years. Years ago he started Let's Act Army-Burke County, which picked up garbage, responded to storms and even distributed food around the area.

What You Need To Know

  • Jason Seidel is working with Noble Built Adventures to build insulated sheds

  • They are planning to build 60 sheds

  • The sheds are for those displaced from their homes after Helene

Now, he has started a new outreach called Project Your Home, partnering with Noble Built Adventures.

"We have all been affected, and we felt the need to do something," Seidel said.

They all had a vision of building insulated shelters to help people displaced or living in tents before the cold weather comes. They will be building sheds that are 8 feet wide and 16 feet long.

"You have people who were renting, and now the owner is not going to repair the house. They are now the new face of homelessness," Seidel said.

So far people have been donating to purchase the supplies, but they can use all the help they can get. Noble Built Adventures is building them for Seidel at a very discounted rate. Noble normally builds playgrounds, but this project means a lot.

They want to give back. They will be working hard to make as many as possible to get people out of the winter weather conditions ahead.

If you are in need of one of the sheds you are asked to fill out the application on Project Your Home's app or contact them directly.
