CHARLOTTE, N.C. — T-shirt orders pouring in from across the country have raised over $34,000 for the families of four fallen officers.

What You Need To Know

  • Over $34,000 has been raised so far to go to the families of officers killed on April 29

  • Organizers say they want to support the families and remember the officers

  • Shirt orders have come in from 46 of 50 states, and sales will end June 28

The shirts read "Never Forgotten" on the front with the badges of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officer Joshua Eyer, Deputy U.S. Marshal Tommy Weeks, and investigators Alden Elliott and Sam Poloche on the back.

"The whole purpose of this is to do something for the families, and let them know they're not ever going to be forgotten," said one of the organizers, Lauren.

Lauren, who asked us not to use her last name because she has family currently in law enforcement, is a former officer and says she was in the academy with Joshua Eyer.

Lauren and two other current officers worked together on the design and partnered up with The Ragg Company for the fundraiser. The Ragg Company says nearly 2,500 orders have come in so far from 46 of the 50 states.

"It was kind of overwhelming at first cause there was a lot of support coming it and it was really cool to see," said Bailey VanHoy with The Ragg Company.

Lauren says in addition to keeping the names of the officers alive, this is a chance to show law enforcement they are supported.

"You might be in a life threatening situation with some of these people and that bonds you, and to lose those people is huge. So, something like this, just wearing a shirt, and someone seeing that you're wearing that shirt, it's like, 'hey, they are trying to understand," said Lauren.

Shirts are on sale through June 28, and The Ragg Company will write a check to the Charlotte Mecklenburg Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #9, who will then split the money among the four families.
