RALEIGH, N.C. — A GoTriangle driver is heading to a national competition where he will highlight his expertise in bus safety.

Garcia beat out drivers with years of experience 

Miguel Garcia recently took home the top prize in the bus division in “The Roadeo.”

The competition draws transit drivers from across the state who compete in timed events. 

Garcia says it all comes down to making sure drivers operate as safely as possible.

“Any little blink that you make and miss. It could be a kid, the person, anyone to get in front of your bus. So, yeah, we are happy that we are able to do this and understand the danger out there,” said Garcia.

Garcia won a trophy and $500 for his win. 

He is heading to the national “Roadeo” in Texas next year.
